AESTHETIC MEDICAL CLINIC
Eye Bag Treatment
Under-eye bags affect how rested and alert you look, often more than any other facial change. At our Clifton, Bristol clinic, Mr Simon Lee, a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, offers both surgical and non-surgical options depending on your anatomy and what you want to achieve.

Eye Bag Treatment
Eye bags affect many people long before they feel old. They make a face look tired, older and less vibrant regardless of how rested you actually are. Getting the diagnosis right is the first step because the two main causes of lid changes require completely different treatments. Mr Lee performs a range of lower lid blepharoplasty procedures to optimise results and safety.
At our Clifton, Bristol clinic, we offer both surgical and non-surgical options, and our Consultant Plastic Surgeon-led practice is well placed to guide you to the right option.

Structural Eye Bags, Fat Herniation
In many cases, eye bags result from herniation of small fat pads that normally cushion the eye in its socket. As the orbital septum weakens with age, this fat protrudes forward, creating a visible bulge under the eye. For this type, surgery is the most reliable and lasting solution. Lower lid blepharoplasty can be performed via a hidden incision inside the lower eyelid (transconjunctival approach) or a fine external incision. Mr Lee performs this under both local and general anaesthesia.

Hollowness and the Tear Trough
In other patients, what appears to be an eye bag is actually a shadow cast by a hollow beneath the eye, and into the tear trough. This is a volume loss concern rather than a fat excess concern. Hollowness can be addressed with volumising treatments such as fat transfer or filler. However, this is technically demanding and should only be performed by an experienced practitioner with a thorough understanding of the anatomy of this area.
