AESTHETIC MEDICAL CLINIC

Male Hair Loss

At our Clifton, Bristol clinic, we offer injectable treatments for hair loss, PRP and exosomes with microneedling, both of which stimulate hair follicles and improve the scalp environment.

Male Hair Loss

Male pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, affects the majority of men to some degree during their lifetime. For many, it begins earlier than they expected. The classic pattern of a receding hairline and thinning crown is driven by genetics and the action of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) on susceptible hair follicles. Treatments cannot reverse the underlying genetics, but the right approach can meaningfully slow progression and, in many cases, stimulate meaningful regrowth, particularly when started early.

At our Clifton, Bristol clinic, we offer injectable treatments for hair loss, PRP and exosomes with microneedling, both of which stimulate hair follicles and improve the scalp environment. Healthy hair follicles produce 2 or 3 hairs each. What happens when hair thins is that each follicle produces only 1 or 2 hairs, as well as thinner, weaker strands.

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) for Hair Loss

A small blood sample is taken, centrifuged, and the platelet-rich plasma is injected into the scalp in the areas of thinning. The growth factors activate the follicles, improve blood supply to the scalp and support healthier, thicker, more numerous hair growth. A course of three sessions is recommended initially, followed by maintenance every 6–12 months.

Exosomes for Hair Loss

Exosomes impregnated with micro-needling to the scalp stimulates fibroblast activity as well as hair follicles. Improved microcirculation and direct cell-to-cell communication create a healthy, stimulating scalp environment that supports follicle activity. An increasingly evidence-supported approach. Can be combined with PRP for an enhanced effect.
