AESTHETIC MEDICAL CLINIC

Collagen Stimulators

Collagen stimulators are a distinct category of injectable treatment. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, which replace lost volume immediately, collagen stimulators work by triggering the body to produce its own new collagen over the months that follow treatment. The result is gradual, natural and long-lasting.

At our Clifton, Bristol clinic, we offer two collagen stimulators: Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) and Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres). Both have well-established clinical track records and different profiles that suit different patients and treatment goals.

Sculptra in Bristol

Sculptra is the treatment of choice for patients who have lost significant facial volume and want a gradual, natural-looking restoration. It works by stimulating the fibroblasts to produce new collagen around the tiny poly-L-lactic acid particles, which are gradually absorbed. The result develops over two to three months and lasts up to two years. A typical treatment course involves two to three sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart. Sculptra is ideal for the temples, cheeks, jaw line and general facial rejuvenation.

Radiesse in Bristol

Radiesse is an immediately volumising filler that also stimulates collagen production over time through its calcium hydroxylapatite microsphere matrix. It provides both an immediate structural result and a longer-term collagen benefit, making it a good choice for areas needing both volume and structural support such as the cheeks, jawline and hands. Results typically last 12 to 18 months.

Frequently Asked Questions, Collagen Stimulators Bristol

  • Is Sculptra the same as a filler?

No. Sculptra does not replace volume directly in the way a hyaluronic acid filler does. It stimulates your own body to produce new collagen, which gradually restores volume and structure. The result looks and feels entirely natural because it is your own tissue.

  • How long do collagen stimulators last?

Sculptra results typically last around two years before a maintenance session is needed. Radiesse lasts 12 to 18 months. Both are significantly longer-lasting than standard hyaluronic acid fillers.

  • Can collagen stimulators be reversed?

No. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, collagen stimulators cannot be dissolved. This is why correct placement and appropriate patient selection matter. We are thorough at consultation before recommending these treatments.

  • How much do collagen stimulators cost in Bristol?
