Platelet Rich Plasma Skin Therapy

PRP uses a patient’s own blood to promote healing and tissue regeneration

Platelet Rich Plasma therapy (PRP therapy) involves taking a small sample of blood and separating the Platelet Rich Plasma from the red blood cells using a centrifuge. The PRP is then injected into an individual’s problem areas.

How does it work?

  • Platelets contain a high concentration of growth factors.
  • These proteins help to heal injured tissue/damaged skin.
  • When the PRP is injected the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to stimulate the skin to regenerate and repair.
  • In essence Skin repair and rejuvenation is stimulated by PRP therapy.

Who is a good candidate for PRP

  • Patients who would like to improve mild wrinkles and would prefer not to have other injectable treatments
  • Patients who would like to improve skin quality / crepey skin
  • Patients with skin textural concerns

Any potential contraindications related to an individuals medical history and medications will be assessed at this Consultation.
