Dermalux LED phototherapy
Clinically proven treatment for a wide range of skin concerns including acne, ageing and psoriasis
LED phototherapy uses specific wavelengths of light to trigger biological responses in the skin without heat or UV radiation. It is entirely non-invasive, requires no recovery time, and has a strong evidence base for a range of skin concerns. At our Clifton, Bristol clinic, we use the Dermalux Flex system, which is among the most clinically validated LED devices currently available.
Different wavelengths target different concerns. Red light (633nm) penetrates the dermis and stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. Near-infrared light (830nm) penetrates more deeply, reducing inflammation and accelerating wound healing. Blue light (415nm) targets acne bacteria, reducing active breakouts without antibiotics. The Dermalux Flex allows these wavelengths to be combined in a single session, tailored to the patient’s needs.
What Dermalux LED Treats at Our Bristol Clinic
Active acne and post-acne redness. Rosacea and sensitive skin (anti-inflammatory protocols). Dull, ageing skin requiring a collagen boost. Post-procedure recovery, accelerating healing after laser, microneedling or surgery. General skin health and maintenance.
What to Expect
Sessions take 20 to 30 minutes. You simply relax under the panel. There is no discomfort whatsoever and no aftercare required. LED phototherapy is often used as a standalone treatment or combined with microneedling, laser or skin peels to enhance results and reduce post-procedure inflammation. A course of six to ten sessions is typically recommended for best results.
