Noon Aesthetics Skin Peels
CO2 laser resurfacing remains the most powerful ablative treatment available for skin texture, wrinkles, sun damage, and scarring. At Simon Lee Clinic in Bristol, treatments are delivered using the Lumenis AcuPulse a medical-grade CO2 laser system that allows precise, individually prescribed resurfacing.

One of the UK's most experienced CO2 laser practices
Noon Aesthetics skin peels are available at our Bristol clinic. Built around DermShield technology, they allow high-strength active ingredients to work on the skin with far less stinging, redness and irritation than a standard peel of the same strength.
How does CO2 laser resurfacing work?
The laser creates thousands of microscopic treatment channels within the skin. Columns of damaged tissue are precisely vaporised. This triggers new collagen formation, skin tightening, and surface renewal.
Because only a fraction of the skin is treated at a time, healing is significantly faster than traditional fully ablative resurfacing — while still producing meaningful rejuvenation.
Collagen remodelling continues for months after the treatment itself.
What happens on the day of treatment?
The treatment plan will be confirmed, and your skin will be assessed to establish the appropriate settings for your treatment.
Once the assessment is complete, your skin will be cleansed and a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to reduce discomfort during treatment. Post-treatment care will be explained, and products will be provided.
Once the anaesthetic cream is removed, your skin will be cleansed, and the laser treatment will begin.
A follow-up review appointment at our Bristol clinic will be made at 7 days and 6 months.
Downtime and recovery
Recovery depends on the intensity and depth of treatment. Deeper resurfacing needs more downtime than lighter, more superficial treatments.
You can expect some redness and swelling as the skin heals. We will provide post-treatment instructions to help you care for and protect your skin.
The AcuPulse system
The Lumenis AcuPulse is one of the most advanced CO2 resurfacing platforms available. It allows highly customised treatment through adjustable pulse durations, variable treatment depths, fractional density control, and precise energy delivery. This means treatments can range from mild fractional rejuvenation with shorter recovery through to deep resurfacing for advanced photoageing and scarring. There is no single setting. Treatment is personalised to the patient.
Frequently Asked Questions

What can C02 Laser treat?
Facial ageing
CO2 laser resurfacing is effective for fine lines, wrinkles, crepey lower eyelid skin, perioral lines, sun-damaged skin, uneven texture, and enlarged pores.Acne scarring
Fractional CO2 remains one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for atrophic acne scars, rolling scars, textural irregularity, and mixed scar patterns.Surgical and traumatic scars
CO2 resurfacing can improve surgical scars, trauma scars, textural irregularity, and surface stiffness. Treatment plans are customised according to scar type and skin quality.Eyelid and perioral skin
The lower eyelids, upper lip, crow’s feet, and fine periocular lines often respond particularly well to fractional ablative resurfacing. -
Can I combine treatment with surgery ?
One of the advantages of Simon Lee Clinic is the ability to integrate laser resurfacing within a broader surgical and aesthetic treatment plan.
CO2 laser resurfacing can be used alongside facelift surgery, following eyelid surgery, in combination with non-ablative lasers, or as a standalone treatment. This understanding of facial ageing as a whole allows more sophisticated planning and more natural results.
-
CO2 versus non-ablative lasers
Neither is universally better. The right choice depends on the individual.
Non-ablative lasers offer less downtime, faster recovery, and a lower risk profile. CO2 resurfacing offers greater textural improvement, stronger collagen stimulation, and superior scar remodelling.
At Simon Lee Clinic, experience across both ablative and non-ablative technologies allows genuinely balanced recommendations — without a preference for one approach over another.

This is where extensive experience becomes particularly important.
Our long-standing expertise in laser resurfacing helps maximise results whilst prioritising safety and natural-looking rejuvenation. -
Consultation and Personalised Treatment Planning
Every patient’s skin ages differently.
We believe advanced laser resurfacing should never follow a standardised template. Instead, treatment should be customised according to:
- Skin quality
- Degree of ageing
- Scarring pattern
- Recovery tolerance
- Long-term aesthetic goals
A detailed consultation allows us to determine whether fractional CO2 resurfacing, non-ablative resurfacing, combination therapy, or surgical rejuvenation is the most appropriate approach.
-
What are the risks of CO2 laser resurfacing?
Potential risks include:
• Temporary redness
• Swelling
• Pigment changes
