AESTHETIC MEDICAL CLINIC
CO2 Laser
AcuPulse is a medical-grade Co2 laser used for ablative fractional skin resurfacing. Co2 Laser Resurfacing can improve skin texture, the appearance of fine lines and deeper wrinkles, sun damage, pigmentation irregularities, and acne scarring. At Simon Lee Clinic, AcuPulse treatments are tailored to you with prescribed settings to address your skin concerns. The aim is controlled resurfacing.
What is fractional Co2 laser resurfacing?
Fractional Co2 works by removing microscopic columns of skin, stimulating new collagen and elastin. This skin remodelling continues for up to 6 months.
Treatment settings can be adjusted, allowing us to deliver lighter treatments for patients seeking a light refresh and deeper resurfacing for more established lines and scarring.
What can AcuPulse treat?
Co2 Laser resurfacing is commonly used for concerns such as:
Skin texture and surface irregularity
- Uneven skin texture and tone
- Enlarged pores and general skin quality concerns
Fine lines and wrinkles
- Fine lines
- Deeper lines and wrinkles, where a deeper treatment may be more appropriate
Sun damage and uneven pigmentation
- Uneven pigmentation
- Actinic keratosis, where clinically appropriate
Scarring
- Acne scarring
- Other textural scarring, depending on the scar type and location
What happens on the day of treatment?
The treatment plan will be confirmed, and your skin will be assessed to establish the appropriate settings for your treatment.
Once the assessment is complete, your skin will be cleansed, and a topical anaesthetic cream will be applied to reduce treatment discomfort. Post-treatment care will be explained, and products will be provided.
Once the anaesthetic cream is removed, your skin will be cleansed, and the laser treatment will begin.
A follow-up review appointment will be made at 7 days and 6 months.
Downtime and recovery
Recovery depends on the intensity and depth of treatment. Deeper resurfacing needs more downtime than lighter, more superficial treatments.
You can expect some redness and swelling as the skin heals. We will give you post-treatment instructions to care for and protect your skin.
How to find out if you are suitable for Co2 laser resurfacing
If you are considering AcuPulse CO2 laser resurfacing, the best next step is a consultation. We will assess your skin, confirm suitability, explain recovery, and recommend a treatment plan to suit you.
