Exosomes
Exosome Therapy
Exosomes deliver a concentrated package of regenerative signals — proteins, growth factors, and genetic information — that trigger repair and collagen production at a cellular level. At our Clifton, Bristol clinic we use only clinical-grade preparations with a documented provenance and evidence base.
Exosomes are tiny extracellular vesicles, naturally produced by cells, that act as messengers within the body, carrying proteins, growth factors and genetic information between cells. In aesthetic medicine, exosome preparations derived from stem cells are used to deliver a concentrated package of regenerative signals to the skin or scalp, triggering repair, renewal and collagen production at a cellular level.
Exosome therapy represents one of the most exciting developments in regenerative aesthetics. The science is well ahead of many of the treatments it is being compared to. At our Clifton, Bristol clinic, we use exosomes as a topical treatment applied during microneedling, as an injectable treatment for skin rejuvenation, and as a scalp treatment for hair loss. We use only clinical-grade exosome preparations with a documented provenance and evidence base.
What Exosome Therapy Treats
Skin ageing, dull skin and loss of skin quality, acne scarring, post-inflammatory changes, hair thinning and hair loss (scalp injections or topical application during microneedling).
How Exosomes Are Used at Our Bristol Clinic
Applied topically during microneedling sessions, the exosome preparation is driven into the skin through the treatment channels for maximum absorption. As an injectable treatment, exosomes are introduced directly into the dermis or scalp. A course of three sessions is typically recommended initially, with maintenance as needed.
How do Exosomes work?
Exosomes enhance cellular communication delivering powerful regenerative signals to damaged or aging cells.
When applied to your skin or scalp they:
- Stimulate collagen and elastin production for smoother, firmer skin
- Supercharge your cell’s ability to repair and renew, leaving you with a radiant result
- Reactivate dormant hair follicles, promoting natural hair growth.
Who is a good candidate for Exosomes?
Every skin type can benefit from Exosomes!
- To improve early signs of aging
- To smooth out fine lines and wrinkles
- To improve uneven skin tone
- To boost hair density
Exosomes are particularly perfect treatment option for those seeking:
- To improve early signs of aging
- To smooth out fine lines and wrinkles
- To improve uneven skin tone
- To boost hair density
What happens on the day of treatment?
Following your consultation, a treatment plan will be created for you based on your goals.
Skin will be prepped for treatment.
Topical anaesthetic cream can be applied prior to treatment to minimise discomfort.
Exosomes are applied to the skin and micro needling is used to maximise absorption.
The whole process is quick and comfortable.
What results can be expected?
A course of treatment will be needed to achieve the optimal results. These results will become visible after the first few treatments with results ongoing and developing over the following months.
Exosome treatment can improve skin texture and tone, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and achieve fuller healthier hair growth in treated areas.
What to expect after treatment?
Post treatment you will be amazed by how easy recovery is with minimal downtime.
- Some redness may be present and can last a day or two
- Normal daily routines can resume almost immediately
- Aftercare instructions will be given to maximise results

Frequently Asked Questions — Exosomes
-
Are exosomes safe?
The exosome preparations we use are clinical-grade products with a clear manufacturing standard and documented safety profile. We do not use products without proper evidence or regulatory documentation.
-
How do exosomes compare to PRP?
Both are bio-stimulatory treatments. PRP uses growth factors from your own blood. Exosomes deliver a broader range of cellular signals, including growth factors, cytokines and regulatory molecules. They can be used alongside PRP or as an alternative. We will advise on the right approach at your consultation.
-
How many sessions are needed?
A course of three initial sessions is typical, spaced four to six weeks apart. Hair restoration programmes may require more sessions over a longer period.
-
Are exosomes the same as PRP?
No. PRP is derived from your own blood, whereas exosomes are purified extracellular signalling vesicles designed to support regenerative communication between cells.
